SCARA is the Resident’s Association for the Central Area of Surbiton bounded by the Railway, the Elmbridge boundary, the River Thames and Uxbridge and Surbiton Hill Roads.

We have been in existence for over 25 years and provide an active and non-political voice for local residents.

Our primary concern is to protect and improve the amenities of central Surbiton. This often brings us into contact with the Royal Borough of Kingston Council and/or the Surbiton Neighbourhood Committee which is a new grouping of 12 Councillors who have devolved powers to deal with local issues (open to the public; see local press or contact RBK for dates and venues) sometimes to encourage and support their actions, but at other times to propose action or oppose or make changes to those plans which we think would be detrimental to the character of the SCARA area.
